1/4" Hand Stitched Show Lead and Choker

     Here is a combination of a black hand stitched show lead and choker. A matching choker and lead gives nice symmetry and the leather choker draws less attention in the ring. I cut my thin show leads and thin chokers from the firmer part of the hide to ensure the greater strength for the least amount of leather. For the experienced handler, I will make the lead as light as you feel confident with.

1/4" Hand Stitched Show Lead

     Typically a show lead will have a smaller handle (4-finger, 3-finger, thumb loop) depending upon your preference. It is braided and hand stitched at the handle. The stitching helps to give a smooth, clean feel while the braid is decorative but also helps you know you are coming to the end of your lead. The snap end is stitched for a neat look.

3/8" x 4' Hand Stitched Bridle Leather Lead

      Here is a heavy black bridle leather lead which is firm with good tensile strength, but mellows quickly. This is a good short lead which affords a lot of strength without a bulky or heavy look. This same look can be duplicated with a heavier snap and a slightly wider or heavier leather. Available in 2' to 4'. Priced accordingly.

     My customers enjoy this lead for its versatility. It works nicely for agility and in the show ring. With sensitive dogs, dropping and shaking of the head may stop when using this lead. It may also be opened up, going over the head, and then closed, which is an advantage for dogs whose heads are significantly larger than their necks. It is also good for training. The leather is easier on the coat and particularly helps with chafing on short coated dogs. This lead is available from 1' to 5' off neck.

     This can be used for showing or otherwise. A popular item with owners of small terriers although martingale leads can be made to fit any breed.

Braided Training Lead

     This lead features a fairly significant knot and a brass ring sewn between the layers of leather. It is less likely to cause problems if left hanging from collar during work. If you will be snapping the lead around your waist, keep this in mind for length.

     This is nice for advanced obedience. It features an o ring on the handle for snapping the lead around your waist. Often the length of this lead is determined by the size of your waist. Available in 2' to 4'.

Alum Tanned Round Braided Lead

     This is a good training lead for larger breeds. It is double knotted at the end for a good grip. The brass ring is to snap lead around the waist or over the shoulder. This design works well for recall work, leaving it attached to the collar, if so desired. This leather is very strong.

     Used primarily in conformation. This is very popular, although it is not as smooth as a single strap lead.
